copy texting elemanter glt SRH vs RCB is a do-or-die clash for Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). With just six wins, RCB cannot afford a defeat on Thursday. It could seriously damage their playoff hopes. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are out of the playoff reckoning and will be aiming to pick maximum points from their remaining matches.
The match will take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
If SRH has to register a fifth win this season, the batting unit has to come good. Apart from Heinrich Klaasen, none of the other batters haven’t shown any consistency. There have been a few excellent individual knocks, but Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, Mayank Agarwal, and Harry Brook didn’t meet the expectations.
The bowling department did its job well in the last couple of games. Against Gujarat Titans, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 5/30, while T Natarajan was excellent in the death overs. However, the SRH’s experienced fast bowlers didn’t receive enough support from the likes of Marco Jansen and leg-spinner Mayank Markande, both of whom were expensive against the reigning champions.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
With two points a must, the pressure will be on Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell. In the last game, Du Plessis and Maxwell struck a half-century against Rajasthan Royals. Also, wicketkeeper-batter Anuj Rawat played a brilliant cameo. RCB head coach will be desperate for a solid performance from the batting unit in the remaining two games of the league stage.
On Thursday, Wayne Parnell will be the key figure in the bowling lineup for RCB. The South African, who has nine wickets in five outings, was terrific against the Royals, picking up three crucial wickets in the powerplay. Mohammed Siraj, too, was excellent. Michael Bracewell, who took two wickets in Jaipur, will likely retain his place in the playing 11.
