LSG vs SRH is the tenth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. The hosts Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be playing their third match of the 16th edition, while Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is on the road for the first time this season. Though it is early in the season, both teams would be keen to avoid a defeat and put themselves under pressure.
The match is scheduled for April 7, Friday, at 7:30 PM.
Lucknow Super Giants Overview
Quinton de Kock is likely to be available for selection and could open the innings with KL Rahul. The left-handed batter, who was dismissed by Washington Sundar for just one run in the last meeting between the two teams, will want to begin his IPL 2023 campaign on a bright note. Also, Nicholas Pooran would be keen to do well against the team he represented last season.
Fast bowler Avesh Khan had an impressive outing against SRH in the lone meeting in IPL 2023. He took four wickets, two in the powerplay, and bagged the man of the match award. Playing at home, Avesh will want to repeat the heroics from that last year’s fixture. All-rounder Krunal Pandya took the crucial wickets of Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Overview
SRH will be hoping that Aiden Markram, who is the franchise’s captain, and Marco Jansen will join the SRH squad after South Africa’s ODIs against the Netherlands. Markram is a key figure in the SRH batting unit, and the franchise is very dependent on the South African and former Punjab Kings skipper Mayank Agarwal. Rahul Tripathi, who made a 30-ball 44 against LSG last season, will want to replicate last season’s form.
Jansen’s arrival adds more strength to a bowling line-up consisting of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Washington Sundar, and Umran Malik. Washington and Natarajan took two wickets each against LSG last season. Meanwhile, Umran went wicketless and gave away 39 runs in his three overs. The SRH fans will hope Bhuvneshwar can produce magic with the ball.
