GT vs LSG pits the Pandya brothers against each other. In the absence of KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya will lead Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while Krunal’s younger brother Hardik Pandya is the captain of Gujarat Titans (GT). It will likely be a cracking match that could go down to the wire.
The match will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Sunday.
Gujarat Titans
Shubman Gill will be keen to make amends after being dismissed for a duck against LSG this season. He will be keen to convert his half-centuries into a three-figure score. GT skipper Hardik Pandya and wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha excelled against LSG in Lucknow in the only meeting between the two sides. David Miller and Vijay Shankar are other key batters in the playing 11.
Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan lead GT’s pace and spin attack. Both players have picked up more than 15 wickets this season and are in the race for Purple Cap. The Afghanistan captain’s teammate, Noor Ahmad, too, is proving his worth in his maiden IPL season. Mohit Sharma and Joshua Little are the pace options in the GT squad.
Lucknow Super Giants
LSG will want to return to winning ways after picking up just a point from the last two matches. In the absence of KL Rahul, Kyle Mayers opened the batting with Manan Vohra against Chennai Super Kings. However, batters struggled to register big scores on a pitch that suited spinners. Ayush Badoni starred for LSG with a 32-ball 59*.
Naveen-ul-Haq is grabbing headlines after impressive performances in IPL. The Afghanistan pacer, who was roped in as backup for Mark Wood, has made the most of the opportunities presented to him. He has seven wickets at a brilliant economy of 6.12 from four matches. Young spinner Ravi Nishnoi, too, has resumed from where he left last season. With 12 wickets, he leads the Giants’ wicket-takers chart.
GT vs LSG Head-to-Head
GT has won all three games against LSG in IPL. The reigning IPL champions grabbed a thrilling seven-run win in the previous meeting between the two teams. Hardik Pandya and Wriddhiman Saha shone with the bat, while Mohit Sharma and Noor Ahmad clinched two wickets each.

GT vs LSG – Who Will Win?
KL Rahul’s absence is a setback for LSG. However, the franchise has the likes of Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran, who can win games on their own. GT has a solid bowling attack, and that’s what makes them the favorite to beat LSG.
